Thanos Infinity Gauntlet mug, Entertainment Earth exclusive – by VickamaryNara

image

This 16oz Thanos Infinity Gauntlet mug can be purchased from the Entertainment Earth website for only $15.99! This mug was set for release last year however it was cancelled and then early this year it was released again!

If you’re a fan of the Mad Titan Thanos, then this mug is for you! But only if you’re left handed does it have it’s desired effect of it looking like you’re wearing the Gauntlet. I’m right handed, so when I pick up this mug, the front is facing me and the Gauntlet sticks out and makes it uncomfortable to use.

Don’t get me wrong, this mug is still incredible, but with left handed people taking up 10% of the population, it makes me wonder why EE made it this way. Of course you don’t want to alienate your audience, so why not make it adjustable? Or make 2 different variations of the mug?

Despite this it is still a great addition to my mug collection and although I won’t be using it, it looks awesome sat on the kitchen side and it’s a must have for Thanos fans.

My dream of having my own Infinity Gauntlet is still in the future for me!

Doctor Strange. Who is he? And what should I read? – By VickamaruNara

image

We’ve just had a pretty exciting announcement that the first Doctor Strange trailer will air on Jimmy Kimmel next week! I’ve been following this film since day 1 and my excitement grows day by day!

Who is Doctor Strange?
Doctor Strange, real name Steven Strange, is one of the most powerful sorcerer’s in the Marvel universe! He was an expert neurosurgeon and after a car crash that severely damaged the nerves in his hands he was unable to perform surgery. Strange refused to accept this and tried every avenue he could think of to find a cure. He eventually caught wind of the Ancient One and sought out to ask the Ancient One to fix his hands. To cut a long story short the Ancient One takes Strange on as a disciple and teaches him the art of sorcery.

If you’re completely unfamiliar with Doctor Strange and want to read a recent comic of the character, I recommended you read Jason Aaron’s latest “Doctor Strange – The way of the weird” comic as it really delves into the peculiar world Stephan lives in. You also get a good look around the Sanctum Sanctorum, which is Strange’s home. It’s only on it’s 6th issue so far and has an incredibly captivating story. You can pre-order the first trade on Amazon now and it’s release is set at the 2nd May!

If you’re looking for an origin story, something that explains what Steven has gone through and how he becomes Doctor Strange in more detail, there’s a pretty simple graphic novel called Doctor Strange – Season One that explains his background.

A more famous Doctor Strange story is “The Oath” where Strange sets out to solve his own murder. He is also featured heavily in the Avengers/new Avengers story arc written by Johnathan Hickman.

The film has UK release for October 28th!

Half of the Civil War Funko set!

I pre-order all of my Funko’s from Popinbox and these 6 are the first batch of the Civil War set that are slowly coming out! They are available to purchase for £8.95

Here we have 3 members of Team Captain America; Cap himself, Agent 13 and Scarlet Witch, and 3 members from Team Iron Man; Iron Man, Black Panther and Black Widow.

The 3 female funko’s come with a base and  If you’ve been a Funko collector for a while, you’ll know that some of them are unsteady on their feet. The new bases give the funko’s balance, meaning that I can stop blue-tacking them to the shelves! (I’m sure I wasn’t the only one!)

Lets have a closer look at the Funko’s! We’ll start with Team Cap!

image
Steve Rogers

There are many Captain America funko’s; the classic Marvel universe one, Avengers, Winter Soldier, Age of Ultron and now Civil War. (There might even be more) Not to mention the “unmasked” funko’s that also exist! The best Captain America Funko is from the Age of Ultron line, this one has disappointed because he’s not wielding his shield. However it is better than the Winter Soldier Funko which has a dull colour and has an overly heavy head!

image
Sharon Carter

Agent 13 is a comicbook character I thought I would never see a Funko of. For those of you who don’t know Sharon Carter, she is famously known as Captain America’s girlfriend and plays a huge part in the Civil War storyline in the comics. And although her Funko isn’t wearing her classic white jumpsuit she still looks the part. Sharon was definitely one of my favourite characters during the Civil War arc so it makes me tremendously happy she gets to be part of the film.

image
Wanda Maximoff

Here’s the second Scarlet Witch Funko, and as previously mentioned this one has a base. She’s wearing her outfit that was shown at the end of Age of Ultron and also shown in the Civil War trailers!

Now let’s have a look at Team Iron Man!

image
Tony Stark

Similar to Captain America, Iron Man has had quite a few funko’s! This one is another brilliantly detailed Iron Man and it looks very similar to the Age of Ultron pop, except it has a different shaped Arc reactor.

image
T’Challa

Here’s the fans favourite Black Panther Funko! The detail and design of this Funko is perfect, it’s definitely the best of the bunch so far! Hopefully we will get another Black Panther Funko when his solo film comes out!

image
Natalia Romanova

This is the third Black Widow Funko and honestly my favourite of the 3! This is also the first one with a base. I’m not completely sold on her being on Tony’s team, I hope she will end up being a double agent and actually be on Team Cap! But for now, she’s on Team Tony!

Overall, each of these Funko’s have great detail and make a good looking set so far! The next few should be rolling out this month; Falcon, War Machine, Winter Soldier, Crossbones and Giant Man!

Purchase yours now from Popinabox!

I will be writing small reviews of the Civil War story arc from 2006, so stay tuned for that and also the other half of the Funko set!

Thanks for reading!
